Another film in the “Naked Summer” series on Fandor this month. I find it fascinating that there were so many nudist movies in the early 60s. This one is about a nudist camp in England. Similar to Diary of a Nudist, most of the nudity is limited to boobs but at least it isn’t quite as obvious. There are plenty of just clothed scenes at the camp mainly during the musical numbers.
Light-hearted movie where the prudes become convinced that all is fine at the nudist camp then the story goes into a jealousy subplot with a woman Gloria trying to break up the main characters. Worth noting that Gloria has implants which is weird to see in an early nudie flick.
Fairly harmless movie despite the nudity but seeing all the naked kids makes me more uncomfortable. For the time I’m sure it wasn’t even a consideration. Seems like something you wouldn’t see these days at least not as explicit as in this movie. That’s a weird thought in how sex and nudity has been portrayed in film over the years. This movie is 56 years old.
