Viewing Notes

Heard good things so was hoping this would stick around long enough for me to catch it in theater. Glad it did because this movie is p darn good despite the obvious plotting to reach conclusion. P obvious what the deal was with the Black Badger (the identity) esp. when you cast Dwayne Johnson as the lead. Worth noting that he *can* carry a movie if it’s a good script unlike Snitch, which is just so-so and really doesn’t do anything to highlight his strengths.

The therapist scene had me LOL. Johnson can do comedy well when he has the material. Also good chemistry with Hart. If they sequel this I hope they have a stronger less predictable story.

Side note: what’s with the recent crop of new films that have tons of movie references??? Is this because of the filmmakers today having grown up on these films? It’s so weird to see so many. This is the second within the week to do this (the last being Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates). Just really bizarre to see so many in a movie some of which I’m guessing people won’t get.
