Wasn’t expecting much but received plenty and then some. Good chance of this making my top 25 for the year. Jackie Chan still has all the physical chops even if he doesn’t do all the big stunts anymore. He’s great and has good chemistry with Johnnie Knoxville. Entertaining watching them jump from one action setpiece to the next as they traverse across China. Also a great supporting cast. Even the lighter moments are great especially the evening with the Mongolians when they break out an Adele tune.
The Russian doll scene is the best comedy scene in 2016. So brilliant and executed so well. Eve Torres is an excellent badass. Such an enjoyable movie even when it slides into familiar territory. I’d love to see a sequel with Knoxville and Chan.
