Viewing Notes

Screened at Fantastic Fest 2016 with Tim Burton in attendance but of course I skipped it there. Was happy to return after the festival and see it a day later. I like the world and the children. The plot is a bit wonky as I’m sure the book gives more time to thoroughly develop it. The homage to Harryhausen in the big setpiece towards the end was nice to see. Not one of Burton’s best but I was entertained and enjoyed the adventure.
