My first film at this year’s Chicago Int’l Film Festival and a very nice one at that. Very breezy slice of life drama centered around bumbling private dick Hiroshi Abe dealing with his broken family. Despite being the primary star it’s Kirin Kiki that steals nearly every scene as his mother. Yoko Maki is also very good tho isn’t given much to do.
Cool to see at the Fest and in the International competition but not a film that needs to be seen on the big screen.
