Viewing Notes

Revisiting this because my last viewing was less than optimal. It’s odd to me that this is sequel in name only since Gordon Liu is an entirely different character here. Kara Hui is a delight as always. Of course Johnny Wang is the villain.

First two thirds of this movie are fine but the final third is so great and really showcases both Lau Kar-Leung’s directing and action choreography so well. It is rather funny how Liu’s character goes off to learn Shaolin kung fu and returns thinking he hasn’t learned a thing but in reality is a badass.
