Viewing Notes

Crazy I haven’t seen this despite owning it for years! I guess I forgot I had it (it’s on the first release of Rodan by Classic Films). Was reminded of it when I was listening to Kaijucast interview with Ed & Steve, the writers.

This is a real treat. It focuses entirely on Eiji Tsuburaya and the special effects behind making the Godzilla films from the early days to Millennium series. Even the costume actors talk about Tsuburaya esp. Nakajima of course. Just fascinating hearing all these veterans from the old days talk about making the miniatures and sets. Wonderful stuff.
