Viewing Notes
Totally get why this Merry Melodies animated short played before our feature; it features Porky Pig taking on the power chief Injun Joe as Porky is traveling with a covered wagon train making their way west through “indian country”. It’s offensive as all hell and another time capsule of the type of cartoons produced in the last century. It’s great to see these now in the current climate but it doesn’t make them good. Barely anyone clapped when it was over.
