Viewing Notes

This movie is a blast. I think I may like it more than the first movie even though none of the action scenes are as good as the church scene in the first film. This sequel has a lot of energy and moves at a brisk pace for nearly 2.5hrs. It’s weird they cast Channing Tatum yet barely use him in the movie. Same for Halle Berry. Oddly Colin Firth feels out of place in this installment. Pedro Pascal is a highlight and I love the buddy team-up between Egerton and Mark Strong.

So much of this however is very ridiculous. Like making a James Bond film for millennials. I’m fine with it bc it’s fun but it’s very silly between the villain lair and plot. Very much a comic book movie with good actors hamming it up. Not sure they’ll make a third movie but I’d be all for it.
