Cinepocalypse Day 5/Movie 2: DEAD SHACK has a good premise on paper but teeters the line between outright comedy and serious horror without committing to either. Sure, it can be both but having a character whose guts are hanging out making wisecracks is a bit silly. Visually nice with great practical FX. Plus casting Lauren Holly as a badass is the right move. However it’s tough to rise above the zombie hordes these days and this one doesn’t cut it.
