Hope this is half as good as BEYOND SKYLINE.
It’s not but still a pretty darn good movie for what it does, at least the first two thirds are really good. It falls apart in the third act. Still one to watch for the Bérénice Marlohe & Lee Pace coupling; they are good together. If the entire movie was just those two I would be fine with it.
It feels like the same universe as SKYLINE with the alien invasion and human abduction. That Bo somehow gets powered up by the aliens (in the beginning of the movie) is also reminiscent of SKYLINE. Very similar but never really pays off. Gets very routine in that third act that I was dozing off due to lack of interest. Then the movie ends without resolving the biggest loose end of the story.
Love that this is set in Africa with mostly POC for the side characters. Really like Bérénice as a badass even though it’s a character we’ve seen 100x.
