4th film at B-Fest 2018, the Gordon / Yuzna modern fairy tale with killer *ahem* dolls. Definitely more in the realm of traditional B-Fest fodder but I’d still argue that even this is a fairly mainstream fantasy horror flick that doesn’t really deserve the riffing. However, this is a fun movie to watch with a rabid captive audience in an auditorium already heated up from TREMORS (and two other films before it). The special FX are terrific and occasionally gruesome even when the story beats don’t always land.
