Never reaches the heights of Nakamura’s GS ‘10 but that was already an extremely high bar. Fortunately this still provides enough thrills to make it a satisfying adaptation of Kotaro Isaka’s excellent story. It’s really the strength of that story that props up this film in the weaker areas. Also worth noting that this movie is different than GS’10 in several ways I suppose to make it its own version (esp. the finale). Yet those things are what made the original movie so unique.
