Overview

Doug Harris is a loveable but socially awkward groom-to-be with a problem: he has no best man.  With less than two weeks to go until he marries the girl of his dreams, Doug is referred to Jimmy Callahan, owner and CEO of Best Man, Inc., a company that provides flattering best men for socially challenged guys in need.  What ensues is a hilarious wedding charade as they try to pull off the big con, and an unexpected budding bromance between Doug and his fake

Viewing Notes

Never heard of this movie until I looked up films featuring Nicky Whelan. Based on the ensemble cast guessing that she’s not featured much. Anyways, I grabbed this from the library bc she’s in it. Watched a run of films featuring her (+ Nic Cage) and was impressed w/her work.

Update: Nicky has a small but good role but she deserves a bigger role. Makes me happy that she got such a big part in Inconceivable. She does look gorgeous in this movie.

The movie is a very by-the-numbers comedy that has some good moments by Kevin Hart. Also has Olivia Thirlby which is nice and she’s great here in a smallish role. Whoa Jeff Ross just appeared. Weird cameo by iJustine in the first act.

A lot of the movie is a slog but the finale wraps things up nicely with some good character moments by Hart, Gad and Thirlby. Whelan too. Outtakes with Kevin Hart are funny too mostly to watch the rest of the cast crack up.
