I like Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s style and his work with Koji Yakusho. This made for TV movie is more crime drama with supernatural horror elements. Has some great visuals and framing. However, the story has a few issues that take it down a notch. The characters are good but the entire plot hinges on bad decisions compounded with more bad decisions that seem contrived for the sake of the story rather than how people would truly behave.
The film did have me wanting to revisit some of Kurosawa’s better films so I will try to do that soon bc it’s been a while and others I still have not seen.
