Not sure if there is source material for these Mythica films but it feels like YA made for TV. Like Hallmark Channel or ABC Family ‘cept they say bitch and whore a lot, which seems odd for a woman-led and woman-directed feature. Anyways, as a sword and sorcerer lite flick it’s not half bad and on location shooting in Utah is nice and clearly chilly. However, the low budget is obvious with the FX and action choreography. Still not a terrible D&D fantasy film in which i appreciate that young women are in charge of the party. Curious how the sequels improve on this “origin” story.
