This was the film I was most looking forward to seeing at the festival (it’s not often you get to see an Albert Pyun film on the big screen let alone a new one). Sadly it’s a big disappointment. I fear that his dementia has taken the best from him and he can no longer see things clearly.
This was as if he watched the Prequels and said, “I can make that movie on .01% of the budget with 99% less action and 99% more dialogue exposition.”
This is literally a movie of people talking to each other in front of a green screen. And talking about stuff that makes no sense to the viewer. It’s a shame that he thought this was a product worth releasing and showing. He wants to do a small screening in Vegas w/the cast & crew; I cannot imagine what their reaction will be.
I do give this a slight bump bc even with this ravaged mind Pyun is still swinging for the fences trying to make ambitious films. Unfortunately it just doesn’t work in the execution and final product.
