Viewing Notes

Movie 2 in my Henry Cavill triple feature. Haven’t seen since it was released and I figured it would be improve w/age. It has. And now I’m sad there won’t be a sequel even though it’s set up at the end. The actors even discuss it in the extras, which are decent but lack a featurette on the women of the movie.

The chemistry and Guy Ritchie’s direction really make this thing sizzle. It has a fun tone over the action and it’s clear they were enjoying this production. The extras prove it out as Cavill and Hammer are like two big kids on a playground doing many of their own stunts. The Matisse Motorcycle feature was pretty cool to see. Would love to have one of those bikes.

My viewing was also enhanced bc since this film was released in 2015 I’ve seen a lot more 60s secret agent / spy flicks (even recently) so it was nice to see a modern take on those films set it that time period. They really could’ve made an awesome sequel to this now that the characters are established.
