As far as 90s sex thrillers go this is definitely one of the better ones (in a sea of 90s sex thrillers). Directed by Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs) this is often sleazy until it gets downright horrific and not surprisingly still relevant today. Sex abuse, rape, misogyny, and the general fear that women have reporting rape/abuse is all present here. The movie title is interesting and I believe it represents how the man in this story is portrayed as innocent despite being utterly despicable and totally evil, basically a poster boy for men’s rights activism.
Didn’t realize this was a sequel to NAKED KILLER, which I own but haven’t viewed. Guess I need to do that. I like Simon Yam as the good guy Triad.
