So fucking good. Was inspired to revisit the opening murder of the psychic based on Rob Hunter’s tweet about Argento being so confident in his story that he reveals the murderer at the beginning. Was aware of the scene but wanted to watch it again then of course I fucking get glued into watching the whole damn thing again because it’s so fucking good (why I went with the Amazon Prime stream instead of my blu).
This film is a near masterpiece. Argento’s run in the 70s into the early 80s is one of the best for any horror director (up there w/Carpenter and Cronenberg). I dunno how many times I’ve seen this (beyond my tally here) but it never fails to blow me away. And that score is perfect. There was a time when this was my favorite Argento so now I have to revisit Tenebre to see if it’s still my ultimate Dario favorite.
