Overview
In a kingdom ruled by a young and unpredictable king, the military commander has a secret weapon: a shadow, a look-alike who can fool both his enemies and the King himself. Now he must use this weapon in an intricate plan that will lead his people to victory in a war that the King does not want.

FF 2018 Day 4 - Film 1:
Zhang Yimou creates a beautiful tapestry in his latest period action drama with swirling inky blacks and pearly whites that it becomes quite hypnotic watching this tale unfold. Probably the prettiest film seen at the fest. Easy to get lost in the plot points but the action beats are thrilling. Definitely one to see on the big screen if possible.
