Overview

Nick Garcos comes back from his tour of duty in World War II planning to settle down with his girlfriend, Polly Faber. He learns, however, that his father was recently beaten and burglarized by mob-connected trucker Mike Figlia, and Nick resolves to get even. He partners with prostitute Rica, and together they go after Mike, all the while getting pulled further into the local crime underworld.

Viewing Notes

This movie is giving me so much anxiety. If someone were to tell me that this movie was about apples prior to viewing it I wouldn’t have believed it. Great movie but at times was hard to sympathize with our lead bc he does do some really dipshit things. Seriously.

Also if your buyer is selling crates of apples for $6.50 then you shouldn’t expect that amount from the buyer… like there’s no margin for the buyer then. That’s fucked up.

Kinda crazy how much San Francisco plays a role in film noir.
