Viewing Notes

Picked up from the library this Michael Powell double dvd set featuring this and AGE OF CONSENT.

Man, just wasn’t into this. I get why it has a high rating but once I understood the conceit I didn’t care so much. I do give it credit for doing something so wild in the big studio system that I’m sure it had to be a weird film to view at the time. And the production value is excellent. This is one of those films I’d expect CFS to program (maybe they have?).

Maybe some day I’ll revisit under better conditions.
