The equivalent of seeing a multi million dollar production of “the scorpion and the frog” repeated over and over on the big screen. Which is to say this is pretty darn dumb but my kind of dumb. Probably just worth it to see Amitabh Bachchan all battle-worn kicking ass again. It is rather humorous that he can barely do the dance moves (they limit him there at least) yet we’re supposed to believe that he’s flying around on ropes and sword fighting the British army. Like I said, it’s dumb but has some nice action and emotion. Katrina Kaif also helps even tho she’s only got two dance sequences.
This is another movie where I’d like to see a “making of” feature that breaks down the CG versus real sets. There are some great sets here but I’m always curious what was added/altered to make it fully realized. Pretty wild that they released this to IMAX screens. Really cool to see this on a giant (LieMax) screen.
