Everyone deserves a great love story, but for 17-year-old Simon Spier, it’s a little more complicated. He hasn’t told his family or friends that he’s gay, and he doesn’t know the identity of the anonymous classmate that he’s fallen for online.

Viewing Notes

Another 2018 film I heard good things about but missed in theater.

Yeah this is pretty good. A bit on the schmaltzy side and careens into near fantasy towards the end. Still a good story about coming out as a teenager and dealing with the fallout between friends and family. Has some really nice moments and oddly makes me wish I had kids.

I wonder how this scenario would’ve played out during my time in high school.
