Overview

Following his great success with “North by Northwest,” director Alfred Hitchcock makes a daring choice for his next project: an adaptation of Robert Bloch’s novel “Psycho.” When the studio refuses to back the picture, Hitchcock decides to pay for it himself in exchange for a percentage of the profits. His wife, Alma Reville, has serious reservations about the film but supports him nonetheless. Still, the production strains the couple’s marriage.

Viewing Notes

Not sure if this is good or not but it certainly has a great cast. It’s fine. I didn’t care for the Hitch hauntings or Ed Gein sub-plot but Michael Wincott needs to be in more movies. Jessica Biel is still a stunner. Also didn’t realize this was the first time Hopkins and Mirren have working onscreen together.

SPOILERS FOR “PSYCHO”

I really didn’t know this was about the making of that movie. The finale when they screen PSYCHO makes this movie worth the watch.
