Overview
In the future, an outbreak of canine flu leads the mayor of a Japanese city to banish all dogs to an island used as a garbage dump. The outcasts must soon embark on an epic journey when a 12-year-old boy arrives on the island to find his beloved pet.

Viewing Notes
Been wanting to revisit for a while. Theater viewing left me a bit cold despite mostly enjoying it. The animation is certainly terrific.
It’s fine but also problematic. There are some neat things negated by a lot of the weird appropriation. I kinda wish they hadn’t set this in Japan.
