Viewing Notes

Let’s do this.

Really enjoyed this. Rolls up the action/adventure and sci-fi/fantasy into an epic ball of fun that’s often goofy but also very earnest. James Wan totally nails the tone of these characters and this world. The sequences shot in IMAX are incredible and wonderful to see on a huge screen. I’d like to see this in true IMAX.

I’m very happy to see Amber Heard in a major role rather than supporting. Also love seeing Kidman in an ass-kicking part. Wish we got more of that. Patrick Wilson plays a good bad guy but strange to see him cast as the younger brother of Arthur when it’s obvious he’s not younger. The only real fizzle for me is Black Manta. Dumb character and motivation and subplot. Would’ve been fine removing that entire subplot to tighten up the movie and lower the runtime.
