Viewing Notes

This was a mistake. Packed audience on a holiday Saturday afternoon. People don’t shut up. Woman next to me checking her phone every 2 minutes and texting throughout. Bored kids behind me kicking my seat.

Oh and the movie is not good. I give it a full point up for Emily Blunt being the only worthwhile actor/character. And a half point for Disney doing an old school live action musical + animation (basically apes the original). Also give it props for including David Warner and Dick Van Dyke. Otherwise this is a 4/10 movie. Just boring and uninspired. I get why audiences like it (mine clapped at the end) but this is some dreck full of characters not worth caring about and a simple stupid plot (ooh evil banker is foreclosing their home).

15 minutes into this I just wanted to get up and leave for all the reasons above. Would love to see Blunt get a better musical / script to perform in bc she’s great.

Only Paddington showing up could’ve saved this (fuck, they already have Whishaw).
