Happy day finding an unseen Terence Fisher film on Prime. Sad day that it’s not so good. Produced in Germany then dubbed in English they didn’t even bother to get Christopher Lee to do his own voice. Also Lee doesn’t make for a very good Holmes, surprising as that may sound. He’s essentially a dick to everyone he encounters but not in a clever or witty way. Just an asshole really. Doesn’t help that the story isn’t very good and really a muddled mess. I read up on it afterwards bc it’s a headscratcher as to why this would turn how bad but from what I understand it’s due to the German producers at the time who had too much control and overbaked the project into the mess that it is. Too bad.
