Viewing Notes

Been a long time since I’ve seen this… also this dvd looks like shit.

For as much as I remembered there was a surprising amount that I forgot (like that hugely stressful scene with David’s kid and gun). Given the total chill nature of the film (quiet, introspective scenes + exposition + more quiet sequences, etc) this movie paces well and moves right along and suddenly we’re at the “hero” sequence at the end.

This is one of Bruce Willis’ best performances. Very subtle and nuanced that perfectly captures this reluctant hero yet dealing w/the emotional burn of his broken family.
