Overview
During the reign of King Zhou, an official enters his bedchamber, and is devoured by the monstrous tails of Daji, his concubine. Outside their city, several warriors within a metal wagon discuss their strategies to free the Invisible People and their Chief, when Jiang Ziya appears to them. He tells them that when King Zhou was younger, he let himself become possessed by the Black Dragon for his quest for power.

Viewing Notes
Saw this on the shelf when I was looking for another movie and couldn’t resist.
This movie is so nuts but I love it. It reminds me of watching Sinbad movies when I was a kid. Crazy action beats and wild creatures. I mean, Louis Koo rides a giant black leopard. And it’s a hero quest movie that’s also convoluted. The final super action setpiece is dizzying and nearly put me to sleep (not sure why but big action sequences make me sleepy).
Disappointed that the Blu doesn’t have any extras. Would really love to see some BTS featurettes.
