Viewing Notes

Always wanted to buy the Blu but they were always expensive. My library has both parts so finally revisiting since the theatrical release.

I’m here for all the Rina Takeda scenes. High Kick Girl FTW

Having a few years of space between viewings made me appreciate this movie a lot more. Probably bc I forgot most of the anime series. Seeing this as its own thing it’s quite fun and I actually do like the fast jump from the setup to the kids as soldiers. Then into the action against the Titans. Satomi Ishihara is a true gem and chews up every scene she’s in (no wonder Higuchi put her in a starring role in Shin Godzilla).

Disappointed by the lack of extras (only trailers included). I’d love to see some interviews and BTS featurettes.
