Viewing Notes

I like this depiction of this family and these sisters despite the majority of focus on Maggie Cheung’s character esp. over Michelle Yeoh’s character. Understandably Cheung’s sister is more critical to the story around political activism and she’s terrific here. Just disappointing that Yeoh and Vivian Yu don’t get a greater stories altho perhaps they were lesser in extent to the story of the Soong Family. I’d like to read more about this family and their impact in the history of the Nationalist Party.
