Wish I didn’t already know the premise. Altho it’s given up pretty quickly in the movie and would’ve been predictable anyways. So I guess it doesn’t detract. Overall this is an effective, creepy thriller. Despite a few nitpicks, which I won’t go into here bc spoilery, I dug this movie. Mostly because it touches a real fears of mine (psycho-stalker, claustrophobia, and something else spoilery). Isabelle Huppert plays a damn good weirdo old woman. But she’s like a legend already so it’s cool to see her in a pure genre flick. CGM is also good but nothing really to stretch or extend her talents; this is kinda what we’ve already seen from her. Maika Monroe. Yep, Maika Monroe. *heart emoji*
Cool to see Neil Jordan doing genre again. This thing is shot really well, too. Looks gorgeous and actually makes NYC looks like a fabulous city. Nice soundtrack as well.
