Overview

Mining engineer Shigeru investigates the disappearance and death of his fellow coworkers when prehistoric nymphs are discovered emerging from the mines. After an attack on the local village, Shigeru heads deeper into the mines only to make a more horrifying discovery in the form a prehistoric flying creature. Soon a second monster appears as the two converge in Fukuoka.

Couldn’t say when I last watched the US cut of this film but it’s been a while. Kinda crazy how much is edited and trimmed (this cut is only 72 minutes!). Never been a big fan of this film but wanted to watch it before the new KOTM movie bc Rodan looks amazing in the trailers.

This is a rather tragic story given how it ends. Glad Honda brought Rodan back in future films but still never really cared much for how this giant monster has been portrayed in those films. Really looking forward to the new movie since Rodan looks like a badass.
