Viewing Notes

Not sure how I missed seeing this. That said, I’m glad I didn’t see this in theater because I would’ve been a mess during the entire runtime. Really wasn’t expecting the emotional gut punch this delivers. I don’t have my own kids and it still really got me. Can’t imagine viewing this as a parent. Incredibly effective take on parenting (esp. single parenting) and raising children. Possibly my favorite Mamoru Hosoda film to date. The whole “wolf” thing is really another way of defining and establishing personalities esp. in our children as they are raised. Not only is this a *great* film on raising children but also understanding them and how they are different (siblings) and eventually letting go (letting them go their own way).

Also viewed at least 30 minutes of the extras (all the premieres and stage introductions). Love that Aoi Miyazaki was crying during the stage performance of the main song.
