Viewing Notes

Finally getting to this. Would say that I am surprised but nothing Kurosawa does surprises me. This is a really fun film and I am totally charmed by it. Great set of actors for all the primary roles. Love Yuri as the badass Akira Tachibana. The kind of film that slowly informs the viewer as it goes along and yet the viewer still doesn’t know where it’s going.

The DVD release is one of those odd ones that doesn’t contain any menu so it just starts the film on load then stops the dvd when the film is over. I wouldn’t mind owning this if it had a better release (blu perhaps). It’s just the right kind of weird that I like from Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

I think this played Fantastic Fest? I know it was schedule for Cinepocalypse but was pulled.
