Appreciate the intent and craft but ultimately didn’t work for me. Was thinking about APOLLO 11 the entire time (this short film uses 60s footage in a similar fashion) and how brilliant it is for crafting a narrative from just the footage. This film has its own narrative its wedging into the trip to the stars. And that was the main issue for me. It’s shot in a way that doesn’t look or feel 1960s. Like this guy who is the astronaut on the mission, he wouldn’t have a beard.
It’s dumbfounding that filmmakers would spend so much time, money and effort to create something but not consider small details that will take the viewer out of the movie.
