Viewing Notes
Finally a Korean film back in the theater. Pretty good crime comedy that actually touches on a rather serious issue that mirrors recent events in S.Korea. These bad dudes would pick up young women in a club, roofie them, rape and video record them then expose them on the internet. The two main leads discover this after a girl attempts to kill herself because it happened to her. So the two heroes go off to investigate against the wishes of their department and the action begins.
The crime and comedy is well balanced (the older Korean women in my screening were laughing at everything!). Basically this movie boils down to “women aren’t taken seriously so it takes a woman to solve the crime”. It’s an enjoyable flick for the good chemistry between the leads.
There’s a hilarious moment when Sung Dong-il from Accidental Detective shows up.
