This movie posits that if Ma & Pa Kent find a baby Kal-El freshly landed from space in their field and raise him and give him all the love parents should, that despite that, because the baby came from some evil alien race, the child will turn on them and all humans. That’s his true nature and this movie delivers on that.
Rather threadbare and intensely mean spirited, BrightBurn is fine. It’s The Omen repackaged. But there’s no layers or complexity; just an evil superpowered kid that seems to hate everyone.
Nice acting, FX and some good setpieces keep it at a solid 6/10. Worth a watch but I wouldn’t bother revisiting.
