In a small Japanese town, Ko-Ko is appointed to the unenviable position of executioner. Knowing he must successfully perform before the appearance of the Mikado in a month’s time, Ko-Ko finds a suitable victim in Nanki-Poo, who is distraught over his unrequited love for the maiden Yum-Yum. Nanki-Poo agrees to sacrifice his life if he is allowed to spend his remaining days with Yum-Yum, who is betrothed to Ko-Ko.

Weird oddity to appear on Prime, an Australia made-for-TV animated version of THE MIKADO. Like really wild to watch this trainwreck. Since this was geared towards children I wonder if any actually got interested in the story and found a better version. Made in the early 70s this is more like a 60s hippie / flower children adaptation.
Oh also strange that this movie was completely absent from TMDb. It can’t be that rare given it has a fully completed IMDb listing. Anyways, I had to add the entire thing. Ugh
