This is one of Tony Jaa’s comeback films after he retired a few years earlier. Fun to see him mixing it up with Michael Jai White. The story is pretty basic and predictable given the setup but I’ll never tire of seeing Tony Jaa kick ass. Amusing that his name in the movie is “Tony” and I wonder if that was to make it easier for him working in primarily English w/a English speaking cast/story.
Not sure why they set the film in Cambodia despite shooting most of it in Thailand. It could’ve worked there just as easily (Jaa’s character is actually a detective from Bangkok). This movie did make me want to visit both Thailand and Cambodia (both are on my list for my next adventure to Vietnam).
I’d watch this again.
