Viewing Notes

Worst movie of the year? I’ll be the judge of that.

Huh so WTF. Seriously. This movie isn’t nearly as bad as I was led to believe from the abysmal RT critic score and all the lamenting on Social. Like it’s not a great movie but it’s no fucking way a 23% (2/10 score??!? WTF). Granted I went in with very low expectations based on all that but I found it interesting and occasionally funny (mostly Kumail Najini’s work as Pawny). Sure, the story/plot is dumb and predictable but it’s fun watching these characters go from point A to B to C. Also the FX are solid. At the end, I said “I’d watch that again and I’d take a sequel w/these characters” Hemsworth and Thompson are good together.

Now I want to read / listen to critic reviews to find out why they were so hard on this movie. Shit, there were people in my small audience that clapped at the end. And it still came in 4th at the box office in its second week against heavy competition.

A real head scratcher.
