With this cast there is no good reason for this movie to be the mess that it is. Quite a shame all this talent is wasted on this silly story. It feels like the screenplay read well on the page but did not translate well to the screen despite the efforts of all involved. Such odd choices too… like why all the accents (Uma has a strange accent that comes and goes; Maggie has something that sounds Russian).
Seems like everyone is having fun and it is nice to see all these actors hamming it up. Crispin Glover is probably the best suited for his role (and was the reason I requested this from the library). His “quiet place” bit is hilarious. The rest of the film, not so much. I’d really love to see all these actors in another, better heist movie.
Guessing it was an intentional decision for Tim Roth not to wear shoe lifts so his shortness is obvious against all these tall women, esp Uma who towers over him. I like that.
