When heads of state gather at the G8 summit in Japan, Guilala—the intergalactic monster that had been banished from the earth in The X from Outer Space—returns to ravage the Japanese countryside and threaten the world leaders. Military strikes prove futile against the beast, but a reporter learns that one rural community possesses a strange ritual that might influence the creature. Minoru Kawasaki directs this campy satire.

Watching THE X FROM OUTER SPACE again at G-Fest really had me wanting to view this loose sequel again. I believe I watched this before THE X so I’m curious how this plays now. Did not realize Inge Murata is in this! Or Bin Furuya for that matter!
So maybe I enjoyed this a little more now that I have context for Guilala. Still rather tedious all the world leaders developing solutions to stop Guilala then failing. Tbh Natsuki Kato was mainly the one thing keeping invested; she’s fun and has a good story trying to resurrect Take-Majin to battle Guilala.
The satire stuff just doesn’t work for me. Too one the nose dopey. Yeah we get it; all the rulers are fucking morons.
