With an honest job and a loving wife, Nick Brenner believed he had safely escaped his violent, criminal history. Had to get creative with the limited choices this weekend. And need to be in the A/C
This could be film #1 in a triple feature: ASHES, DONNYBROOK, SPARROW CREEK (James Badge Dale being the throughline among others in addition to the tone and crimes).
I dunno why this got shit on by critics but I suppose b/c it so simplistic and straightforward. Maybe? It is but I like that… there’s a point A and a point B and shit is gonna go down. Not as good as either Donnybrook or Sparrow Creek but in the same family.
