Viewing Notes

Was mentioned on Twitter so of course I sought it from the library network. That first swordfight is totally a HK wire-fu sequence straight outta Shaw Brothers.

I watched the extras and learned that the action director is the same guy that did many of Jet Li’s films so it all makes sense. There’s a lot of chatter about merging that HK action with the fencing stuff. That’s exactly what this looks like, even the style of the film more closely resembles early to mid 90s HK action films.

The movie as a whole is fine.
