Like an English/UK version of Detroit Rock City but without the zany comedy antics. Still plenty of humor mostly in the banter between this group of young people. I like films written around real events like this famous concert on Spike Island in 1990.
Overall decent but not being a Stone Roses fan (or familiar with their music for that matter) probably hampers some of the enjoyment. Emilia Clarke is a bright light. Had to go subtitles (thankfully the dvd has them!) bc the accents and words are intense. Like I wouldn’t get half of what they are saying bc we don’t use those words or words in that context. Quite interesting for that reason.
Wonder why Kaya Scodelario has a blink and you’ll miss her part in this… especially coming of Wuthering Heights. Perhaps a favor? There’s literally no reason to be in this otherwise. Also wild to see Jodie Whittaker in a bit part but at least she has a good scene.
