Overview
A headstrong Chinese-American woman returns to China when her beloved grandmother is given a terminal diagnosis. Billi struggles with her family’s decision to keep grandma in the dark about her own illness as they all stage an impromptu wedding to see grandma one last time.

Viewing Notes
Had to go up to AMC Northbrook Courts. Not ideal but goddamn why the fuck do they platform release this. Fortunately this screening unlike the previous screening I checked is not completely packed so I don’t have to deal with the weirdos.
Anyways, great film. Didn’t produce the waterworks I anticipated… until one particular scene during the wedding. Holy hell that broke me. Awkwafina is very good as billed. Everyone in this cast is very good esp. the grandma.
